Tenda HG15 — AX1500 Wi-Fi6 VoIP xPON ONT

Buying it, and when not to

The HG15 is an AX1500 Wi-Fi 6 VoIP xPON ONT: fibre termination, 2 gigabit Ethernet ports, a POTS port for a telephone line, and four 6dBi antennas carrying Wi-Fi 6 - all in the one unit on the customer's wall.

This is the premium subscriber unit in the range and it earns that place on a business drop. One box terminates the fibre, serves the office WiFi and provides the analogue phone port, so there is nothing else to mount, power or explain. For a residential customer on a higher-grade plan, Wi-Fi 6 from the ONT itself means you are not immediately selling them a separate router as well.

For a basic subscriber it is more unit than the service needs: the HG6 gives N300 WiFi and the HG10 gives AC1200 for less, and if you are bridging to the customer's own router anyway, the single-port HG1 is all the ONT you have to pay for. Note too that the POTS port only matters if voice is actually part of the package - do not pay for it otherwise. And the ONT must be provisioned on your OLT before it will pass traffic; nothing about buying a better ONT changes that step.
