Tenda TEG1128P-24-410W — 26GE+2SFP Ethernet Unmanaged Switch With 24-Port PoE

Buying it, and when not to

The TEG1128P-24-410W is an unmanaged switch with 26 gigabit ports and 2 SFP slots, PoE on 24 ports, on a 410W budget. It is the largest unmanaged PoE switch here, and the 410W is the reason to buy it.

Specify it when twenty-four drops will all draw real power: a building of Wi-Fi 6 or Wi-Fi 7 ceiling access points, a surveillance system with motorised and illuminated cameras, or a mixed site you want to be able to expand without replacing the switch. 410W across twenty-four ports is about 17W each, which comfortably carries current access point and camera hardware with headroom left for whatever the customer adds next year.

It is more power supply than a light site needs, and if the drops are fixed cameras the TEG1128P-24-250W is cheaper for the same port count. For a fast-Ethernet camera build the TEF1126P-24-250W is cheaper still. For under sixteen drops, the TEG1120P-16-250W is the right size. The real question with any 410W switch is upstream: a fully loaded unit draws serious power, so size the UPS and the inverter for it at quote stage. And if the site needs VLANs or remote management, the cloud-managed TEG2228P-24-410W is this switch with management added.
