Tenda 4G08 — AC1200 Dual-Band Wi-Fi 4G+ LTE Router

Buying it, and when not to

The 4G08 is an AC1200 dual-band Wi-Fi 4G+ LTE router. It is the capable end of the SIM-router range: LTE-Advanced carrier aggregation on the WAN side, and a dual-band 11AC radio on the LAN side so the WiFi is not the thing that ruins the experience.

Specify it as the primary connection for a shop, a small office or a household in an area with good LTE but no fibre, and as the failover router for a business that cannot afford an outage. The dual-band radio means a dozen devices can be on it without the 2.4GHz congestion that makes single-band SIM routers feel broken. Pair it with a carrier that performs at that specific address, tested with a phone before you commit, because LTE performance in Lagos varies street by street.

If the budget is tight and the household is light, the 4G06 does the same job with a simpler radio for less. If the user needs to carry the connection around, the pocket 4G180 is the right form factor. And if there is fibre at the address, or a Starlink kit is within reach, both will beat LTE on consistency and on price per gigabyte for heavy use - sell the SIM router as the backup in that case rather than the main line.
